God is so Awesome and Faithful!
In January of 2008 the Lord laid it upon my heart to complete the rough draft of my book by 31 December. At the time I thought this would be simple because it basically broke down into my having to write one chapter per month. After several months of no writing at all, I realized what once boasted as "a chapter a month" was rapidly becoming "a chapter a week." If I didn't do something quickly, I would be responsible for writing "a chapter a day!" So I hunkered down. It was tough going at times. At other times it was exhilarating. Today, it was awe-inspiring as I finished the final chapter.
Only other writers can truly appreciate the sense of accomplishment that comes from having a "finished" draft of a complete project. I know this because this is the first time I've ever finished a book. I've written a lot in the past. But I've never actually finished a BOOK! Until today.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the gentle nudging of the Holy Spirit, my constant companion, reminding me of the promise I made to God back in January. That promise was an agreement between the Father and I that as long as I did my part (sitting my rear in the seat and typing), He would be faithful to do His part (inspiration). I thought God only wanted a book from me. But as is his tendency, He went above and beyond in fulfilling his end of the deal. His gift was Chariot Ministries.
This week, as I put the final touches on my rough draft, the Lord showed me his plan for the Ministry and how he would like us to proceed. I don't imagine that I have all the glorious details, yet, but I know they will be revealed in His perfect timing. What He has given Chariot Ministries so far is perfect for where we are at.
God's perfect timing...a wonderful thing to ponder during this time of year, knowing that just over 2,000 years ago God performed a fantastic miracle, which allows for you and me to be washed clean-- made perfect-- in God's sight. That miracle was the birth of Jesus.
"For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given...And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." ~Isaiah 9:6
Merry CHRISTmas! We'll return in January 2009...
